Gain better control over depth-of-field & other macro techniques during this one-day central-Texas MACRO photography workshop with Jeff Parker.

The workshop, which takes place in a country setting, covers both the artistic and technical aspects of one of my favorite forms of photography.

During your workshop I’ll explain the ins and outs of macro gear, including providing pointers about what lenses work best in certain situations and why. Learn how lens focal length affects field of view, working distance and, ultimately, your composition.

Become more comfortable with your camera’s manual mode, all while mastering the art of “focusing with your feet.” Learn how to “see” subjects & backgrounds with “macro” eyes and recognize the myriad ways (beyond the obvious) macro images differ from “regular” shots, including taking a look at how color affects your image.

And, since I’m a nature photographer, expect to take home tips on getting up close and personal photos of wildflowers, insects, and nature’s other small features and creatures — especially the ones that’ll be out and about in our country setting for this fall 2018 workshop. (I can’t promise since nature is, well, nature, but we usually have lots of butterflies this time of the year…one reason we’ve scheduled the workshop for these dates.)

YOUR WORKSHOP INCLUDES:

A full day of learning & creative photography fun, and lunch on-site. Workshop begins at 11:00 A.M. and ends at 6:00 P.M.

SPECIFICALLY:

  • Session on the technical side of macro photography
  • Session on composing for macro
  • Session on lighting with regard to macro photography
  • Sessions on color & creativity
  • Problem-solving techniques for macro photography challenges
  • Tips for focusing on nature’s smallest subjects
  • LOTS of field practice interspersed with classroom learning.
  • Jeff’s one-to-one assistance throughout the day
  • Handout & note-taking packet
  • Snacks, drinks & a delicious lunch
  • Post-workshop image review (I’ve tried doing reviews during the workshop but found there just isn’t enough time to do them well; therefore, the offer stands for post-workshop image review via email for interested participants).

DOES NOT INCLUDE:

Lodging, breakfast, dinner, transportation to and from workshop
